Since 1938 the New Mexico State Fair has been a favorite gathering place for New Mexicans to celebrate local food, competition, culture, creativity and our rich agricultural heritage. The New Mexico State Fair is the Biggest Show in New Mexico, attracting over 500,000 annual attendees.

Contemporary Hispanic Market

For the past 32 years, the Contemporary Hispanic Market has hand selected artists to participate in the juried art show that is held each July in the cultural heart of Santa Fe. Traditional carvings of wood or stones may be found among the booths, yet patrons can also discover individual expression in the mediums of painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, furniture, jewelry, ceramics, weaving and more.

The Contemporary Hispanic Market will take place July 27-28, 2019, adjacent to the Traditional Spanish Market which is also traditionally held on this weekend.  Located on Lincoln Avenue near the historic Santa Fe Plaza, the side-by-side market locations makes it easy for visitors to take in hundreds of booths of art ranging from cutting edge contemporary techniques to centuries old traditional styles.

The Chicano Humanities & Arts Council (CHAC Gallery and Cultural Center) was founded in 1978 by a group of visual and performing artists. The organization was established as a place where Chicano/Latino artists were provided with a venue to explore visual and performance art and promote and preserve the Chicano/Latino culture through the expression of the arts. CHAC’s new location: 222 Santa Fe Drive.

Tularosa Basin Gallery is the largest, all photography gallery in New Mexico.  Located in southern New Mexico it proudly displays the works of over 40 photographers from New Mexico.  Each year the gallery hosts an exclusive exhibition of the winners of the annual New Mexico Magazine Photography contest.
